Owamni restaurant, founded by James Beard Award winners The Sioux Chef, is a new concept focusing on Indigenous foods. Located within Water Works Park on the bank of the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis, Owamni will be the first year-round restaurant partner of the Minneapolis Parks Foundation.

Owamni is seeking Team Members for its restaurant operations. The ideal candidates will be highly organized, with a passion for everything Indigenous, service and quality, commitment to building a team and cleanliness.

Who we are looking for:

  • Preference to 2+ Years Restaurant Experience
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Cleanliness 
  • Interest or experience in working with Indigenous foods and expanding knowledge in this area
  • Lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Kneel, bend, twist or stoop
  • Ascend or descend stairs
  • Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to show up to scheduled shifts on time
  • Cleaning tables, floors and other areas of the Restaurant
  • Follow proper safety procedures when handling and/or preparing food
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Work together as a team, assisting other Crewmembers in completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service
  • Work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • Take initiative
  • Comply with Company policies
